Whether you’re in the mood for a five-course meal, or just need a quick bite to eat, Nantucket offers a wide array of dining options. Renowned for its fresh seafood, clambakes, lobster bakes and Nantucket cranberry pie, the island boasts more restaurants than one would expect for its compact size. Stroll along the downtown Nantucket streets and you’ll find everything from upscale East Coast fare to lowkey pub food.

The Chanticleer – Originally opened as a small tea house at the turn of the century, The Chanticleer is now one of the premier restaurants on Nantucket. One of the most romantic destinations on the island, you may linger over an intimate lunch in the Rose Garden or come together with family and friends for a convivial dinner in one of our personal dining rooms- al fresco on warm evenings. The lush gardens produce organic herbs, flowers, berries and seasonal vegetables for the kitchen. An extensive wine list features some of the finest wines in the world.

Chef Jeff Worster creates seasonal menus celebrating New England’s abundant local offerings from land and sea with a firm anchor in classic techniques and a penchant for cross cultural meanderings to all corners of the globe.

Claudette’s Sandwiches – A beloved local sandwich shop located in Sconset, Claudette’s is known for its fresh, made-to-order, hearty sandwiches and casual, friendly atmosphere. Claudette’s has been a staple in the Sconset community for decades, attracting both locals and visitors who want to enjoy a quick, delicious meal before heading to the beach or exploring the charming village.

Oran Mor – Known for its cozy, intimate atmosphere, Oran Mor offers a fine dining experience with a focus on contemporary American cuisine. Misogi Noodle Bar – Owned by local Chef Felino Samson, former chef-owner of The Beet, Misogi Noodle Bar is a new concept utilizing the Southeast Asian cuisines of Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, and Japan. The newly renovated dining room brings Japan to Nantucket, with an Asian themed lounge, reminiscent of an Izakaya, offering a polished yet casual atmosphere.

The Nantucket Tap Room – The Nantucket Tap Room is a classic American tavern-style restaurant located in the Jared Coffin House, at 29 Broad Street in downtown Nantucket. It has a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere and is known for offering hearty pub fare, including burgers, sandwiches, chowders, and fresh seafood. The Tap Room has a history on the island as a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike, offering a comfortable and cozy space with a focus on comfort food and drinks.

Le Languedoc – Established in 1976, the Languedoc is an institution on Nantucket; owners Alan and Ann Cunha, Neil Grennan and Eddie Grennan have been at the helm for almost 48 years. Enjoy a casual dinner in the café or a more refined dining experience in the upstairs dining room. Le Languedoc’s cuisine is based on classic French techniques with an influence of Nantucket, New England and around the world. While the menu is seasonal, Le Languedoc is specifically known for Nantucket classics like, soft shell crabs and shad roe in the spring, Bartlett Farm tomatoes and corn in the summer, and Nantucket Bay scallops and black truffles in the winter.

Millie’s – A true Nantucket treasure and institution, Mille’s is named after island legend, “Madaket Millie” Jewett, who spent her life caring for the beaches, the animals and the people of Madaket. Known for its laidback style and coastal fare, Millie’s features both New England style lobster rolls and California Baja-style fish tacos. And don’t forget to visit at sunset and follow up your meal with ice cream.

The Summer House – While technically one of Nantucket’s boutique hotels, the Summer House is also home to two of the island’s best restaurants, The Summer House Restaurant – overlooking the ocean with its famous piano bar, and the Beachside Bistro – with outdoor seating nestled in the dunes on the beach.

Straight Warf Restaurant – Located on the waterfront in downtown Nantuket, Straight Warf has been a Nantucket staple for six decades. The restaurant's menu evolves nightly, reflecting seasonal availability and the freshest local produce. Signature dishes include scallops, clams, and local Nantucket fluke.

Cisco Brewers – The perfect place to wind down after a day at the beach, Cisco Brewers has been a staple in the Nantucket community for almost 30 years. While primarily known for its craft beer, wine, and spirits, Cisco Brewers also hosts a rotating selection of food trucks. These trucks offer a range of casual fare, from lobster rolls and tacos to BBQ and burgers. The relaxed outdoor environment, live music, and great drinks make it one of the most popular spots on the island.

Something Natural – A beloved local institution, Something Natural is a casual spot known for its sandwiches made with freshly baked bread. Located on Cliff Road, it’s a great place to stop for lunch or grab food to take to the beach.
