Nantucket Race Week

Nantucket Race Week is a week dedicated to sailing regattas, parties, and community events.

Nantucket Race week is an annual sailing regatta event that features dozens of races for sailers of all ages. The event was established in 2004 by Nantucket Community Sailing (NCS) as a way to celebrate the island’s sailing heritage, promote community engagement, and support youth sailing programs.

While the week is built around the regattas, it also includes awards ceremonies and parties, drawing the entire community together for the celebratory event.

Race Week highlights include:

Opera House Cup Regatta: The week's grand finale, this prestigious race is exclusively for wooden boats, celebrating maritime heritage and craftsmanship.

Women's Regatta: A race dedicated to female sailors.

Youth Regattas: Events like the Youth Opti and 420 Regattas provide young sailors with the opportunity to compete and develop their skills.

Proceeds from Nantucket Race Week benefit the NCS, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing affordable access to sailing and water sports for the public. NCS offers educational programs and initiatives to foster a love for sailing within the community.
